10th July 2016LOCAL MODSThe Choir has recently taken part in a fund-raising event for CHAS (Chidren's Hospice) at Blair Castle on Saturday 25th June. Prior to that, we participated in local Mods at Stirling and Aberfeldy. We enjoyed a great result at the Stirling Mod on 21st May, with the Choir winning the main choral competition. Winners at the Stirling Mod The Perthshire & Angus Provincial Mod in Aberfeldy on 11th June was also a great success. The Choir was placed second in both its competitions, and won the Cuach Clachmhor for highest marks in Gaelic. Huge congratulations also to Cumbernauld Gaelic choir for winning the Puirt a' Beul - the May Mitchell and Frances Matherson Cuach - as well as The Westcroft Trophy and the Janet McIntyre Memorial Cup for highest marks in music.
Aberfeldy members did well in solo competions, with trophies for John Duff and Louise MacDougall; while May Brown and Gilliain MacDonald won the duet trophy. Again. Gilliain and May with the Tracey Ogilvie & Katrina Falconer Trophy |
