The Gaelic Choir is Recruiting Singers...

We’re on a big recruitment drive this year – we especially want basses and tenors, but sopranos and altos are also more than welcome!

We have a great Gaelic tutor in Seonag Barbour, who teaches us the Gaelic songs phonetically (unless you happen to be a native speaker!) You just have to enjoy singing – and the good company of a great bunch of like-minded people. And it's not just Gaelic - we sing Scottish songs too, and a wider repertoire still for Christmas and other special events.

If YOU are interested, contact our secretary, June Riddell, on 01887 877202 for more details. We would be delighted to see you.

...and a Conductor

As well as taking on new singers, we also have a vacancy for a Musical Director.

We are immensely fortunate that our own May Brown has stepped in as conductor during our current inter-regnum, but May would like to get back to the altos as soon as she can.

If you have experience of conducting a musical society, and would like to take on a rural choir that has enjoyed success at the highest level in the Gaelic cultural environment, we would like to hear from you. Contact our secretary, June Riddell, on 01887 877202 for more details.
