Soldiers of Killiecrankie

Members of the choir were delighted to take part in the Soldiers of Killiecrankie event last weekend (27th July) to commemorate the 326th anniversary of the famous battle between the Jacobites under Bonnie Dundee and the Scottish Government army. Alan Brown presented a humorous talk about the choir’s origins and development over the last 48 years and its aim to promote Gaelic culture and music which the choir illustrated in song. At the close of the event, choir members joined pipers, cavalry, soldiers and spectators to march to the battlefield monument where a short service took place. The photograph shows choir members singing the Gaelic Psalm “French” at the memorial service.
